The "Ovidiu Sincai" Social Democratic Institute Foundation is a non-profit organization of public utility, that received legal status on the 4th of June 2002, being registered with the number 343/PJ/2002 in the Registry of Associations and Foundations of the Ministry of Justice. The Foundation was established with the purpose of supporting the process of doctrinal modernization, in order to improve and develop democracy in Romania and in the world, but also in order to efficiently organize the education and training of human resources, for contributing to the professionalization of the political class.

Structure

The Institute prioritizes the achievement of the following objectives:

		The elaboration and support of doctrinal programs regarding Romania's modernization, priorities of the contemporary society, of the world development;
		The organization, coordination and support of educational programs meant to contribute in promoting and teaching the democratic values, ideas and practices, dialogue, transparency and responsibility, equality of chances and solidarity between citizens;
		The elaboration and coordination of scientific research programs meant to contribute in the fulfillment of the foundation's goal;
		The elaboration, coordination and evaluation of socio-economic and specialized consultancy expertise programs;
		The support of communication, information and opinions exchanges on issues of mutual interest with foreign or domestic similar profile associations and foundations;
		Scientific reunions (seminars, symposiums, workshops, conferences) dedicated to issues directly deriving from the foundation's purposes;
		Monitoring and professionally analyzing open source information (press, audio and TV, local and central);
		The organization, coordination and evaluation of public opinion polls;
		The communication and public relations in order to fulfill the foundation's goals;
		Editing prospects, posters, brochures, books, magazines having as purpose the popularization of the foundation's activities, conveying the political and cultural values specific to humanism and democracy, supporting the values of solidarity and human freedom; establishment, organization and coordination of a radio station and a TV station having as purpose the promotion of democratic values, humanism and social solidarity;
		The organization of a documentation center of its own;
		The organization and unfolding of a network of constant supporters of the foundation's activities;
		Offering scholarships to youth preoccupied with studying, promoting and upholding the values and the institutions of democracy.
